Terms of carriage
In short: the seat is held for 20 minutes, there is no prepayment, you pay the driver, and cancellation is free any time before departure. Below is the same in detail, together with what we cannot do.
1. Parties and subject
The carrier is GL Trans (registration details are not yet published on the site). The passenger is the person named in the booking. These terms govern the carriage of passengers and luggage on the carrier’s buses along the published routes and take effect the moment the booking is confirmed.
2. Booking and confirmation
- A booking is made on the site without registration. The required data is first name, surname and phone number; the name must match the passport, because it is the one that goes onto the trip’s passenger list.
- The chosen seat is held for 20 minutes. During that time it is not sold to anyone else. If the booking is not confirmed within that time the seat returns to sale automatically; this incurs no payment and no penalty.
- After confirmation the passenger receives a six-character booking code and a ticket page with a QR code. The ticket can be found at any time under “My ticket”, using the code and the phone number.
- The seat in the cabin is assigned to the passenger. The carrier may change the seat if a bus of a different model is put on the trip; this is communicated before boarding.
3. Price and payment
The price is published in the timetable and fixed at the moment of booking: it does not depend on the day of the week, on how many seats are free, or on how long there is until departure. No prepayment is charged. Payment is made to the driver on the day of departure, in cash or by card through a payment terminal. The fare currency is the euro.
Discounts and surcharges are applied under the published tariff rules:
- children under 10 — a reduced fare, with a document proving age;
- a group of 6 or more on a single booking — a group discount;
- a loyal customer (10 trips or more) — an agent applies the discount; ask before you book;
- the second and every further piece of luggage — a surcharge per piece;
- night departures (22:00–06:00) may include a surcharge, already contained in the published route price.
On this corridor a departure can shift because of the border or a delayed plane. Refunding a prepayment in such cases is slower and more unpleasant for both sides than never taking one. The direct consequence for the passenger: cancelling and not turning up cost nothing.
4. Cancellation, changes, no-show
- Free cancellation — any time before departure before the departure time, from your ticket page or under “My ticket”.
- A later cancellation also has no financial consequences, since no payment has been made. The carrier asks you to cancel in any case: the seat goes back on sale and may go to another passenger.
- A no-show means the passenger did not appear for boarding before departure. The seat is treated as used and the bus does not wait. No no-show fee is charged.
- Changing the date is done by cancelling and booking again — free of charge.
- Changing the passenger name cannot be done by yourself: the passenger list is handed to the border authorities. The quickest route is to cancel the booking and rebook in the right name: it is free, because there is no prepayment.
- Repeated no-shows without cancelling entitle the carrier to confirm that passenger’s future bookings only after a telephone confirmation.
5. Boarding
The passenger must arrive at the pickup point no later than 15 minutes before the time shown on the ticket, with a valid passport. The exact boarding address and a map link are on your ticket; the bus number and the driver’s name appear there too, as soon as the dispatcher assigns them.
At airports the driver meets the passenger in the arrivals hall with a name sign. Free waiting time is 60 minutes from the plane’s actual landing time, not from the scheduled time.
6. Departures linked to a flight
If a flight number was given at booking, the bus pickup time is calculated from the flight’s schedule, with a margin after the plane lands. There is no automatic flight status tracking at present: if the plane is late, an operator can move the pickup time by hand, at no extra charge and without a separate request from the passenger, and the office tells the passenger the new time by phone or message.
- If the flight is cancelled, carriage is moved to another departure free of charge at the passenger’s request.
- If no flight number was given, the departure runs strictly to the published timetable and a delayed plane has no effect on it.
7. Luggage
- The ticket price includes one item of luggage in the luggage hold and one piece of hand luggage in the cabin.
- The second and every further piece is charged at the tariff, calculated by the driver at boarding. Extra luggage can be carried if there is room in the hold.
- Oversized items (a bicycle, appliances, furniture) — only by prior arrangement. In a minibus there may physically be no room for them.
- It is forbidden to carry weapons, ammunition, explosive, highly flammable or toxic substances, or anything whose import into the EU is restricted by customs rules. The passenger is responsible to the customs authorities for the contents of their luggage.
- Carry money, documents, electronics, medicines and valuables in your hand luggage. The carrier accepts no liability for such items placed in the luggage hold.
8. Children and pets
- Every passenger, including a child of any age, occupies a separate seat and is entered on the trip’s passenger list.
- Children under 16 are carried only when accompanied by an adult. Your own child seat is allowed if there is a free seat to fit it on. A seat from the carrier may be requested when booking: the request is confirmed by the office before the ticket is sold, and availability is not guaranteed.
- Small animals in a carrier — only by prior arrangement, with a microchip, a valid rabies vaccination and an EU pet passport or an international veterinary certificate. The carrier does not carry large-breed dogs.
9. Documents and crossing the border
Having valid documents for leaving Ukraine and entering Romania or Moldova is the passenger’s responsibility. The carrier does not judge whether documents are sufficient and has no influence whatever over the border service’s decision.
The bus cannot wait for the situation to be clarified: the other passengers are on board and many of them have a plane to catch. A passenger who is refused entry leaves the bus at the crossing. Since there is no prepayment this has no financial consequences, but the carrier does not provide transport back.
The passenger must follow the instructions of the border officers and of the driver at the crossing, and in particular must not leave the bus without permission.
10. Conduct on board
- Smoking, including e-cigarettes, and drinking alcohol on board are forbidden.
- The driver may refuse carriage, or set down at the nearest safe stop, a passenger who is intoxicated and poses a danger or disturbs other passengers. In that case no refund is given.
- For damage to the cabin or its equipment the passenger reimburses the actual cost of repair.
11. Delay, substitution or cancellation of a trip
The carrier runs the trip to the published timetable. If departure is impossible or substantially delayed for reasons on the carrier’s side (a bus breakdown, no driver available), the carrier:
- provides another bus from its own fleet — this is the main scenario, and it is exactly why the fleet is owned;
- or moves the passenger to the next departure, with their agreement;
- or refunds the amount paid in full, if payment has already been made.
A delay caused by the border queue, the weather, road closures, an air-raid alert or the actions of the authorities is not a breach on the carrier’s part. A substantial delay is reported by the dispatcher personally, to the number given when booking, as soon as it becomes known: the site sends no automatic delay notifications.
12. Limits of liability
The carrier is liable for damage caused through its fault during carriage, within the limits set by law and by the compulsory passenger insurance contract.
The carrier is not liable for:
- a missed flight, where the delay was caused by the border queue, the weather, a road accident en route or the actions of the authorities. When planning your trip, leave a margin: the time in the timetable already contains the average border crossing time, but does not guarantee it;
- the decisions of the border or customs service regarding a particular passenger or their luggage;
- indirect losses — the cost of an air ticket, a hotel, an onward transfer, lost working time;
- valuables placed in the luggage hold contrary to clause 7.
13. Complaints
Send a complaint through any channel on the contact page, giving the booking code, the date and the destination. A reply is given within 30 days. A passenger acting as a consumer also has the right to approach the consumer protection authorities.
14. Applicable law
Carriage is governed by the laws of Ukraine and Romania in so far as they regulate international road passenger transport, and by EU rules on the rights of bus and coach passengers. These terms do not limit any consumer rights established by law.
15. Changes to these terms
The carrier may change these terms; a new version is published on this page with a new date. A booking already confirmed is governed by the version in force at the time of booking.
